During the completion of our house, I decided to create my own lighting fixtures. I didn't want what everyone else could get at the big box stores and I knew I had the skills, so I did it.
Several months later, I felt the need to contribute to the family income and thought about the cool lights I had created. Perhaps other people wanted original lights as well. So, without my families knowledge I began to pray about the possibilities. I wanted to make sure this idea was God's plan too, & not just my idea, but no answer came.
Nearly a month later when I had kind of forgotten about the shop idea to create lights from vintage shades and globes, God revealed His answer!
So when looking around at an estate sale and getting ready to leave, my husband said, 'What about these?... do you want these?' I looked over at him and there was an entire TUB full of beautiful vintage glass shades and globes! I knew immediately the Lord had answered my prayers. Upon the Lord's confirmation to me His will for the shop, He directed me to Ps.119:105 and placing it in the shop announcement for others to see. I also decided to include scripture about 'lamps or light' though-out the entire store.
Now after being open for a several weeks & not a single light selling, my heart became very anxious and I wondered if I had heard God's reply correctly. Then, without hesitation the Lord laid this upon my heart..."Wouldn't it be better for people to see 'MY WORD' than to sell a lamp, as MY WORD will not return void?" My anxiety left INSTANTLY and my heart was at great peace!
Looking back at the first two months, the statistics showed over 9,000 people had visited the shop. Now after being open for over 15 years, MILLIONS of people have seen His Word! I am in awe of the great God I worship! Praise His Name!
